Substances have been with you for as long as you can remember. It's all so automatic now.

You can’t imagine a day without looking forward to the next hit or the drink at the end of the day. Substances were the comforting signal of a pause in responsibilities, a bit of freedom, the thing you did to unwind. Taking a break from it all—those brief moments of relief— are now something you count on every day.

A part of you knows that using has been the barrier to the life you’ve hoped for.

It all started as a way to escape feeling so bad. Getting high or drunk gave a lonely, anxious kid a temporary reprieve from sadness, a way to connect, even if only for a moment. At times, it felt like a lifeline.

A voice inside tells you it’s not that big of a deal. Everyone has their ways of coping, and yours don’t seem to hurt anyone else. You carry a concern that long-term use has changed something in you permanently. Sometimes you get hit with a wave of emotions and feel guilty, ashamed, damaged and hopeless.

And then there’s the fear—the fear of trying and failing, or maybe worse, of succeeding.

What if, like in the past, you take that leap only to realize how much time it will take to be free?

How much could you have been, had you been more present, more motivated, more connected to the people around you? Would you feel closer to them if you could finally show up, fully, in your own life?

My name is Anna, I am somatic practitioner and addiction therapist in Baltimore, MD and I can help

I support adults struggling to reduce their substance use or sustain sobriety to set boundaries, start living in alignment with their values and rediscover their capacity to have a nourishing, balanced and joyful life.

I started my career working in outpatient and IOP in addiction and recovery treatment centers. My goal is to meet you where you are in your recovery process and offer the supportive guidance needed to maintain the progress you've made - whether that’s becoming aware that you need to change your active use or as you return to your life after higher level care. Some folks I work with have sustained sobriety and seek ongoing support to keep living better.

The opposite of Addiction is Connection.

It’s critical to grow a support system that nourishes you and allows for belonging. We’ll build resources and update the ways you cope and take care of yourself. I’ll help you understand your triggers and break the cycle of use. We'll focus on establishing and upholding boundaries across all aspects of your life.

I want you to leave each session feeling connected to your emotions and able to function in your everyday life without using. Together we focus on healing past pain that contribute to addiction and work toward building a future rooted in sobriety and presence.

Change is possible. We embrace it gradually, one moment, one choice at a time.
