Transform Your Life with Trauma Therapy in Baltimore
For far too long, you’ve been in survival mode—gripping tight to each day, sleepless nights, racing thoughts, and that sudden wave of panic that hits when you least expect it. You've been doing your best to cope, but you’re feeling like you’re not quite in control anymore. You might be wondering: Is there something wrong with me? Will this ever change?
It’s hard to take care of yourself when your body and mind feel so overwhelmed. You’ve been putting on a brave face for others, keeping it together for the people who depend on you, but deep down, it’s exhausting. The worry, the fear, the guilt. You feel like you’re carrying it all on your own.
You’ve worked so hard to create a life that feels solid...
But when the past keeps creeping in, it’s impossible to ignore the toll it’s taking on your present. The memories, the emotions—it’s disorienting. Maybe you’re not even sure if it qualifies as trauma, but you know it's taking up space in your life in ways that feel out of your control.
Healing doesn’t mean reliving every painful moment. It doesn’t mean tearing down what you’ve worked so hard to build. It means reconnecting to your true self, finding balance, and reclaiming the joy that feels so far out of reach.
My name is Anna, I am somatic practitioner and trauma therapist in Baltimore, MD and I can help
I work with 30 and 40 somethings who are struggling with the demands of family, career and relationships. We work together to step out of survival mode and rediscover their capacity to have a nourishing, balanced and joyful life.

Frequently Asked Questions About Trauma Therapy in Baltimore
-
A trauma-informed therapist assesses for the impact of abuse, neglect and household dysfunction in a person’s unique lived experience and how it continues to show up and shape who they are, how they see themselves, how they navigate relationships and the greater world.
It's even more impactful if a trauma therapist can expand the ‘trauma aperture’ to include the impact of adverse community experiences such as poverty, discrimination, violence, patriarchy, colonization, enslavement and genocide. A solid trauma-informed therapist understands the significance of information stored in the body - below cognitive awareness and processing - and has the capacity to be attuned, calm and present as a person accesses, reprocesses and heals past experiences contributing to current distress.

I strongly recommend considering a provider who incorporates somatic modalities. We know trauma is stored in the body and cognitive approaches alone may limit the trauma work.
Somatic practices include focused mindfulness, EMDR, sensorimotor psychotherapy, somatic experiencing and resourcing, parts work and brainspotting to name a few.

The one who you click with. Research continues to show, no matter what the therapeutic modality, the greatest contributing factor to a client’s progress in treatment is the strength and health of the therapeutic relationship. Schedule those consults and get a feel for who you could continue to share with, who makes you feel comfortable and who it feels easy to be in a room with. This is great starting information as you make your decisions!
